Century House B&B

This Lunenburg style home dates back to 1868 and was built by George Young the great grandson of Andreas Jung, an ardent Lutheran who, in 1750 at the age of 22, emigrated from the village of Ltzelinde in Germany to Nova Scotia.

The Flying Dutchman B&B is a charming Cape Cod style home overlooking the magnificent St. Margaret's Bay and the unforgettable sunsets.

Located just 40 minutes from downtown Halifax, 45 minutes from the airport, 10 minutes from Peggy's Cove; we are perfectly located for enjoying day-trips to Lunenburg, Mahone Bay and Halifax.

We have two rooms with private bath (one with jacuzzi) and one large suite. All our rooms have high-speed Internet. Our main house also includes a common room with a small library, CBTV, music and eating area. On warm days our guests like to eat out on the deck. We have many nearby activities for those so inclined: Golf course, whale watching, kayaking, but to name a few.

Kayaking close by. Enjoy a full or half day with an experienced guide or rent a kayak and discover some hidden treasures away from the shores of St. Margaret's Bay. There are numerous Islands and Coves to explore.

Enjoy the ambiance of our waterfront while gently swinging on the covered double swings. Weather permitting, you will experience magnificent sunsets. The afterglow of the sun sinking below the horizon casting its shadows on the clouds is equal to non other.

Our Housekeeping Apartment Unit is a favourite for family groups. The unit has its own entrance, (at ground level), which makes it wheel chair accessable. It affords a view of St. Margaret's Bay, and is very private and quiet.
