Dauphinee Inn
Hubbards
The Dauphinee Inn is ideally nestled on the shores of Hubbards Cove, just 35 minutes from Halifax, Lunenburg and Peggy's Cove.
Furnished with period antiques, all rooms have private baths and most have a magnificent view of the Cove.
Our "award winning" dining room serves the freshest in local seafood, from creamy chowder, to melt in your mouth haddock and salmon, to hot juicy lobsters, and jumbo scallops and shrimp. Steak, chicken, and pasta round out the menu, as well as our famous Hot Rock dining, where you cook your own meal on a slab of granite right at the table - the taste and smell will leave lasting memories. We complement our meals with fresh herbs and vegetables from our own garden.
We are about a half hour drive from the city of Halifax, the historic towns of Bridgewater, Lunenburg, and Mahone Bay, and the famous lighthouse at Peggy's Cove. One of the most beautiful drives in the world departs from Hubbards , and encircles the Aspotogan Peninsula. Discover working 'fishing villages'- walk out on the wharf and talk to the fishermen; find a hidden Castle and Nova Scotia's largest White Elephant; the site of North America's last Whaling Station; enjoy the beautiful white sand beaches; spend an hour or spend a week, you will always discover something new on the Aspotogan.
Chester, where the ferry leaves for Tancook Island, Ross Farm, and Oak Island, where the search for Captain Kidd's treasure continues, are even closer. We are perfectly situated for day trips to historic sites, to antique and craft shops, golf courses, summer theatre, and to the many exhibitions and festivals in the area. As the sun sets over the cove, you can enjoy a private stroll on nearby Hubbards Beach.
