Tales from the Bay - Nova Scotia South Shore History

The Peggy's Cove Coastal region marks one of the earliest settled areas in Nova Scotia; in fact, it is believed that Champlain visited the Bay and gave it it's name: St. Margaret's Bay.

It is hoped that you will enjoy reading these "Tales of the Bay" as you gaze back in history to the earlier times and read about the people who once resided in and around the Bay.

These "Tales" have been contributed to this site by Alfreda Withrow, a well-known local writer who has successfully published many books about our region.
