About the Vessel
The Four Winds I is an authentic Nova Scotia Cape Island Boat. Built in Clarks Harbour Nova Scotia specifically for Kenny Merlin’s water tours. She is constructed of fiberglass, is forty-five feet in length and has a beam of sixteen feet. Her spacious decks provide comfortable seating for thirty-eight passengers around the perimeter of both decks. Center deck space is open to provide an area for buffets, presentations or dancing. The upper deck provides a vantage point to enjoy the sun and scenery of Nova Scotia ’s beautiful coastline. Four Winds Charters offer our services aboard a vessel that emphasizes safety and cleanliness. Captain Kenny and his crew will provide you and your guests with an entertaining, educational and fun experience.

The Vessel is Transport Canada Approved for safety. The facilities include stereo CD, cassette, and radio system, intercom, telephone, state of the art navigational equipment, and a clean modern washroom.
Food and Beverage service is available upon request at reasonable rates, we can provide a selection of items from boxed lunches and finger foods to small sit down luncheons and dinners. Or we invite you to bring your own refreshments and or arrange your favorite catering service.

The Facility includes a dining room, a deck with spectacular view of the Bay, conference and banquet rooms as well as a Subway restaurant and Sea Sun Kayaking. Arrangements can also be made for departures from the Hubbards Area as well as many private dock locations.
All Tours are subject to HST, sea and wind conditions.

Scenic Water Tours

$25.00 per adult, $20.00 per child (6 to 12 yr.) under six free.
Enjoy a two-hour cruise along the beautiful coastline of St. Margaret’s Bay, cruising the calm clean waters and scenic coves surrounded by estate properties and majestic hills, some of which can only be viewed from the sea. A.k.a. “the nosy tour” Capt. Kenny will provide commentary on the local sights, history and characters. Group rates available
Nature Cruise / Whale Watching
$ 35.00 per adult, $20.00 per child
A three-hour cruise along the scenic shoreline near Peggy’s Cove. Clean ocean breezes and magnificent sea life is the perfect combination for a great day out on the ocean. View working wharves, fishing traps of local fishermen, and rugged island geography. It is in these area’s guest will have the greater possibility of seeing white-sided dolphins, porpoise and seals as well as minke, finback and pilot whales. Other marine mammals that have been seen include Humpback whales and Leatherback Turtles. We guarantee ample amounts of fresh sea air along with beautiful scenery.
Private Charter
$300.00 per hour. Maximum 30 guests

The picturesque area’s of Schooner Cove, The rugged coastline of Peggy’s Cove, or the calm waters of Hubbard’s Cove and hidden castle of Northwest Cove .

Glen Arbour Golf Course, artistically hewn from some of Nova Scotia's most pristine landscape, offers an exceptional golf experience just a short distance from Halifax.
Glen Arbour was designed for public play by renowned course architect, Graham Cooke. Our Championship course was home to the BMO Canadians Womens Open in 2005, the first Wayne Gretsky and Friends Tournament in 1999 and the Mike Weir Miracle Golf Drive for Kids in 2009.
Whether you choose to play our 18-hole, 6 800-yard par 72 course or 9-hole par 3 Executive course, the effect will be the same--a premium golf experience that surpasses your greatest expectations. It will challenge the best and promises to reward all.

The distinguished Georgian-style Clubhouse offers panoramic views of the 9th and 18th greens, as well as beautiful Sandy Lake. The Clubhouse is home to our Golf Shop, Lounge and Great Room, which can accommodate groups of 100. Located on the lower level, we have two smaller function rooms, perfect for business meetings up to 30 people. Our corporate tent is located adjacent to the Clubhouse and can accommodate up to 250 for a seated reception.

NovaShores Adventures has four different kayaking adventures available. The most popular tour is Dover on the Rocks - a half day tour including an island hike and a delicious light snack and hot drinks.

If you are not pressed for time we offer 2 full day tours: Island Exploring with rest stop at Dover Island and in the beautiful Peggys Cove Preservation area. Or a full day to Peggys Cove where you will see the famous lighthouse and village from a perspective most tourist never experience. Both full days tours include delicious snacks and a hearty full lunch with hot drinks.

A sunset paddle is a wonderful way to end an adventurous day or to celebrate being with your loved one. Its a two-hour paddle where you get the time to enjoy the peaceful beauty of this pristine world of islands and rugged coastline.

Shining Waters Marine is located at 148 Nautical Way off Highway 333, Tantallon, at the head of St. Margaret's Bay, within 30 minutes drive of downtown Halifax .We offer a Full Service Marina , Yacht storage facility and repair service for sailboats and powerboats. With storage for over 250 yachts from 20 ft up on the property, the site consists of approximately 10 acres, with over 1200 ft of water frontage on St Margaret's Bay.

The property has a paved access road, full dockside fuel service, and numerous other improvements have been made to the property in both physical appearance and quality personnel. The new 8,000 square foot Marina building, as depicted in the drawing, is scheduled to open the first week of July, 2006.

Located at the beautiful protected headwaters of St. Margaret's Bay offering some of the finest cruising grounds on the Eastern Seaboard. Historical Peggy's Cove Lighthouse marks the entrance. The Bay is approximately 20 NM long and 8 NM wide with many islands, beaches and anchorages.
The cruising area includes Halifax to the Northeast (approx. 40NM) and Mahone Bay and Lunenburg to the Southwest (approx. 25NM) with many accessible islands and overnight cruising stopovers. Through the summer months the winds are typically from the south west at 8-20 KT, with daytime temperature in the mid to high 20c range. Come to St. Margaret's Bay, Nova Scotia and enjoy the boating, relaxing scenery and hospitality.

St. Margaret Sailing Club
Glen Haven

St. Margaret's Bay Sailing Club is a 30 minute drive form Halifax. Come join us on our deck in July and August to experience the excitement of the junior sailors or any time between June and September to enjoy the view. The club offers bar services and wireless internet at the clubhouse. There are 5 guest mooting balls and marina slips available and can be rented by contacting the club manager at 902-823-1089. Boaters are also welcome to use the washroom and shower facilities.

SMSC is privileged to host the 2009 Laser Worlds and Masters Worlds Championship. This is one of the largest individual sailing competitions ever to take place in Canada. The regattas will cover a three week period from August 17th to September 5th, 2009.
