We make the rope for our best hammocks ourselves.

It is a place where you can see skilled artisans braid fiber into rope, then weave it into a hammock, especially designed to make nap time one of the most relaxing experiences you will ever have.
Come in and tour our shop. Learn the history of rope and hammock making. Learn how to tie the knots we use. Create a piece of rope using our hand operated rope maker. See how a hammock is carefully woven with your comfort in mind. Browse our library of books about rope making and knot tying. Try out the hammocks and swings to see which is most comfortable for you.

The Sou' Wester's two-level gift shop offers an extensive collection of gifts and souvenir items in every price range. Our selection includes textiles from tartan kilts and yard goods to jackets for both fine and foul weather.
